All those hours spent huffing paint fumes got me this

I was kinda surprised when I checked my notifications on my Fscebook earlier about being featured today on the Pinoy Gundam blog.

Really makes me feel better about the hours I put into my works, and damn well encourages me to do even better on my next works. I've been slowly trying to get back into my earliest hobbies since January and the Gransa is sort of a turning point for me.

It makes me feel like I'm going in the right direction with my stuff.

Thanks sir Gibe and the PG for the feature and more power to y'all!

And for Brod Sim, who recently passed on... I still remember how you said "Brod gusto ko to!" when you saw the finished AGE-1. Well, this feature is for you brod. Keep rockin' on the way to heaven.

White Paint Shenanigans 2

I went and pushed to paint at least 80% of the HG Age-1 but I couldn't really work for long periods due to getting dizzy spells so I cut the session short, leaving only the torso, skirt, and the weapons to be painted for another day.

I think I'm getting the hang of painting whites by using preshading, though I can't really call it shading when I do it. It just turns into a slighly clouded white and not a bright white shade (which I dig anyway)

It seems though with the Sprayworks Basic AB, I've reached my limit early on.

But this is only my second attempt at it though after AGE-1 ALEX, so who knows, right?

Eh, we'll see if by the end of the week I can come up with a decent looking model.

Really late start

Right, so I was supposed to start some UC builds earlier in the month but I hit a slump due to some more immediate events, and have only found time to relax this weekend. Ideally I would have continued building stuff I already started but I went on an impulse buying splurge and got these two kits over the weekend.

Now I already had an AGE-1 kit from earlier in the week because of reasons, so I just stole the Gransa armor and put it on the AGE-1 I'm already building

I also modified it to hold the original AGE shield in a manner similar to this:

Now what to do with the other AGE-1? I'm actually thinking of G3 colors/ Wolf Ennacle colors, or Largan Drace colors. Though whatever it ends up being, It needs to blend well with the Glastron launchers that I won't use on the Gransa build.

As for the Legilis, I'm thinking something that looks similar to the Zeong in terms of colors.

Got my hands on this SA-Wizard figure, albeit incomplete, but still nice. Painted up the details on him from what was originally filled in with stickers, and even his gun. There was some repair work that needed to be done on the left foot but nothing that really takes away from the rest of him. He finally joins the MO Fourze from last year as well haha.

Yare, Yare Daze

Been a while since I last updated on Jotaro. I stopped for a while since one of his most defining features are is his longcoat. And for a while I was stumped until a good friend of mine gave me some foam sheets to experiment with.

These same sheets he had used earlier for his own project, SHF Minami Kotaro

(thanks Poli!)

Anyhoo I think the coat works for now. like with a lot of stuff it's still a bit rough, and I'll go back to fixing it once everything else is resolved, like the pants, and sleeves as well as the belt... And a little more cleaning on the face.

I also started work on Star platinum, again very rough start.

I intend to have him with two heads, an ORAORAORA face and a more stoic face similar to Jotaro's

Currently this project is proving to be fun, and I'm in no real rush to finish these but I do hope it fares better than the Joe Shimamura custom I've yet to finish.

terrible at pictures tonight.

Okay, so here's what I've been working on this week, and it's sorta long overdue (but in part I'm glad it was).

I'm making Jotaro and Star Platinum in Microman scale using some Kinnikuman bodies as base figures.

It has been pretty okay for the meantime but I just can't get the vibe without his coat. But a friend of mine has suggested using "colored foam sheets" bought from the bookstore. I shall look into it next week but I feel it might need some miniature tailoring skills I don't have (;n;)

Really had fun working on the face, sculpted from scratch. I think I'm slowly getting better at this sort of thing.

I haven't bought figuarts in over a year (i think), but I recently bought this Sakurajima Rider 1... I feel like it'll lead me to buying multiples of the Shocker mook then the old Rider 1 suit.
