current stuff and little bro.
first thing's first, i almost missed out on teaching little bro how to prep and hand-paint plastic kits. basic stuff that up until now i'm still refining. was out re-packaging clothes for relief goods to the victims of Typhoon Ondoy, i'll post the pics up later. here's little bro doing his thing:
second thing is Project: Ma-Sa-Ru, a custom Musha SD i'm doing to make the most out of my Infantry GM kits. had to buy a BB 219 just for the frakkin sword. d'oh well, it'll end up as custom fodder sometime in the future...
Did the base head mod i did for the last GM, giving this guy a neck.
here is the base build...
and here's the badly written kanji... it's supposed to spell out Masaru, the custom's name. once read vertical on a huge circle, and read character-by-character on the three smaller circles.

working overtime to get this done so i can help out tomorrow, sort out my schedule, and help lil' bro do more gunpla!

Superior Defender Update Gundamu
right, time for some updates:
and some Mr Metal Color Chrome silver, for the Dry Brushing i'll be doing later on...
first off, i began to glue the major pieces together and brought out some 300 grit and 1000 grit sandpaper to clean out the seam lines.
but wait! i also want to talk about the new model stuff i bought these past few days, first off Mr. Cement but not the regular kind...
and today i just got some new lacquer spray paints for some of the colors i'm using on sonshoko, character flesh 1 and pearl red.
and it was a 2 for 300 deal! score!
so, back to the actual model, i did some priming on some parts, took a while to set cause of the crappy weather we've been having but it's going along smoothly (and painfully slow).
later peeps!

Pretty Lady Sun
i haven't touched a Gundam Kit in what feels like years. i'm getting back into the swing of things with something simple so i don't go crazy :) before all else props go to Jaycee for motivating me to Gunpla with his SD talk. hehehe
from the BB Senshi Sangokuden line of Kits. this is the first female BB gundam i've ever built, and she looks cute! since this line is based on the Romance of the Three Kingdoms epic of Chinese Literature, Sonshoko here is based off of...
aside from that her instructions are a mini-comic on one side which speaks of her (poor) cooking exploits and her (unfortunate) brothers acting as taste testers. i'll prolly make that the next post.
I'd say it looks pretty close. they're both cute! hehe... not sure if i'll hunt down her Husband Liu Bei though, Lady Sun looks charming on her own.
anyway, Sonshoko comes in two sprues with one rubberized joint sprue. the branches are the type that's easy to cut and leaves little flash to clean up, common feature on most FG kits.
after a while of washing these sprues clean from any mold release agent, i did a fitting test with all the parts.
gotta say they've sure improved the SD line since the ones i built in the early 90's as a kid. and they have LEGS now! not just stubby toes, LOL Sonshoko can strike a pose real good, and if it's one thing i look for in toys nowadays it's articulation. :)
she also comes with some paper aprons you can put on her which only raises up her cute factor even more!

dunno when i'll finish this kit, there's only a little prepwork to be done, some filling here and there and then it's off to painting. i'll be extra careful with this and not mess it up too bad, still wanna make her look pretty. :))
here goes nothing! B)

Junkion/Junkiette concept: Nancy
to the right i put up a little concept i worked on today out of boredom. her name is Nancy, from the Planet Junk the Wife of Junkion leader Wreck-Gar. since all the junkions are bikeformers more or less (with the exception of Detritus) i went that route with Nancy. but having no resource material at the time, i winged it on the head design. i admit it looks a bit like one of the fembots on cybertron, but i had veeery little to work with(doodled this in class), still won't hurt to redesign. i think it came out a little too slick and not boxy enough like her brethren, and i took to much liberty of taking cues from memory on the Alex Milne fembot designs... but live and learn. man i never knew how hard it was trying to work out a feasible transformable design. the mechanics are just crazy!
