22 years.

Celebrated my birthday last week in Hong Kong ( gonna talk about that in a different post) last week and brought home a lot of neat stuff, mostly for my 1/18 collection. Sadly, no Joes were found, but my rider ranks just doubled a bit. 

First up, a complete set of Motion Revive Kamen Rider: Best Selection series. I FINALLY have my most wanted 1/18 scaled kuuga and its the form I wanted as well. On a related note, I'm getting a 1/18ish scaled Beat Chaser next week so yay, Kuuga now has a ride! I really dig all of these guys but I'm only keeping Hibiki, Kuuga, and Kiva. Before I give the rest to my friends though, Expect a week of Motion Revive Reviews from me lol. 

I also found these dudes, the Module On Fourze candy toy figures. Aside from having really cool swappable modules and fairly good articulation, these guys are about the same size as Micromen and Motion Revive. Something that kept me from buying the OOO combo change candy toys from a year back. All in all, I was so impressed by these guys that I decided to paint some of their details. 

This one though, was a total surprise. Albeit incomplete I still love the fact that I managed to buy a Revoltech Chun-Li for a cheap price (30 HKD or 160 PHP). Hell yeah!

This is one figure I also love. By default, my first Hot Toys figure, the Snap-Kit Deunan Knute from Appleseed Ex Machina (which is scaled at 1/20) was fun to build. It has a sturdy, hard PVC feel to it and is very well-detailed. Surprisingly it's almost similar to the Yujin 1/18 version except better looking. 

Ah, probably one of my most pleasant hauls, is this Figma Drossel (Fireball Charming Ver.). She comes with an array of parts and accessories which I'll discuss in a later review.

There are a few other things I got here and there while I was on vacation, but they'll probably get mentioned another time.

the things you find while taking a walk.

I can't think. I really can't think and this is a bad start for the week. I felt a little terrible getting up today and for the rest of the day I felt a bit bogged down. So I decided to take a walk, but that didn't help and I came home with this:

Bought it on the novelty of finding a Figma in a bargain bin (and for just 250php/ $5 too!) , really.  Babby's first--incomplete--Figma. 

Stuff I assume to be missing: part of the hair, her hair bun, some alternate hands, an alternate face and a stand (duh).  Well it's neat but i'm giving it to a friend by the end of the week, I figure it's going to a good home.  Now here's another thing that came around last Saturday, but pushed back posting about it until I could  address her little problem:

Meet Microlady Asuka.

 She's missing part of her hair.

Now if I hadn't  used the hair from the other Asuka head I owned there would be no problem but unfortunately it was used for a custom. So I thought of another solution that I applied on Chun-Li. Easier said than done right? well, almost. I couldn't find a head on hand that was the right size and when I did it had a hat (now that I think about it, Imma' go back for it). My headache was getting worse so I went for the one I thought would be the closest to that size:

And it still ended up a tad big.

This new head, it fits but seems to make the figure look more caricatured. Well the good news is that there are likely to be more appropriately sized sculpts out there and Evangelion shit is a dime a dozen because it's almost always lumped in with Naruto and One piece or Bleach crap in the flea markets so I could easily resell the gashapon figure the head originally came from. 

For now though, I guess it will have to do. 

Well now, after writing all that down... I still  feel under the weather. Bah! I think I'll lie down for a bit.

so i went for a little visit to Japanimation, my local anime/ japanese surplus thrift store, scouting for stuff my friends would like when we make our rounds tomorrow. i tried my luck in 3 different bins full of random gashapon and trading figure stuff and pulled out these beauties at 50 pesos (roughly 1$) each.

well from the pic above they look great but how do i display them along with my figures without having to have my figs cross-sit on the floor?

i found these things, which seem to be diskman cleaners for 100 pesos (2$), and after considering it for a while i bought these as well.

you can already see where this is going.

and here is what they look like as small tables to put the slot machine on, and it even came with a cleaning cloth i can use as a sort of carpet. overall, pretty awesome and i can practically make a mini casino with these

things. now to find tiny arcade machines.

it was a good day.

new haul for november, got a lot of doubles as well as replacement stuff like deluxe tank megatron and new bot like mindwipe:

enjoyed figuring out the combined robot mode (CHESTMASTERS, CHEST-ON!)

also tried to make a decent attempt at a combined mode for their jet forms and ended up having a stealth fighter with a back-mounted super-charger deal. :|

eh, it'll do for now.

i like the fact that now i have an actual mindwipe to check if it's possible to do a custom based on this previous post and it's possible! just need to slice off and re-place stuff, but the most challenging thing might be the wings. well i look forward to buying at least 2 more of this mold to start experimenting. he's just too cool looking on his own!
