Daryl's Sprays Test #1: Sinanju Red

So I found a good test subject for the trial runs of the Daryl's Sprays line of airbrush hobby paints.

I think since a lot of the samples work as candy/metallic colors, sprucing up this HG Nobel Gundam might sound like a good idea. Aside from the internals (grey) I'll be painting this model completely with the samples I'm provided. but not using the kit's base color scheme mind you. I'll work with something different.

To start off, I primed the part in Mr. Surfacer 1000, at somewhere within 20psi and below.

The color we'll test out tonight is Sinanju Red, it has a slight bright, signal red hue to it, and comes pretty close to the red here. I can tell this is gonna be one of my more favorite shades of red from this line.

After less than 3 coats, we got this as a result, sprayed straight, no additive or use of DS Thinner as well, just the paint itself, shaken well in the bottle beforehand, and applied at 20psi.

and this is how much paint that was used, when compared to the first picture of the bottle in this post, the difference is only a fraction, which is good, and means your 30ml bottle will go a looong way.

Here it is compared to the base plastic.

This is actually what it looks like compared to the base plastic. I like it, it's an elegant, and vibrant sort of metallic red. If I had a sinanju or even a sazabi i'd enjoy using this shade as the primary color.

That's it for now, stay tuned for more!
